This is not the case. Internet Explorer is hidden when this route is chosen. For instance, you get a virus that cripples iexplore. Often, launching "My Computer" which uses explorer. IE7 is a complete code re-write of IE, as opposed to a traditional update of the previous code as all previous versions of IE had been, for security reasons also.
The same options in the Windows Components are available during a traditional Windows XP installation during the graphical-mode portion of setup as well, and that only "hides" rather than "actually removes" Internet Explorer. I suspect nLite simply presets the install option to "hide" it as a means of "not installing" IE, but maybe I am wrong.
